Phillis M. Parker, M.D. is the newest physician to join ProPartners Healthcare. She is a Kansas City native and graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in 2008. After graduating, Dr. Parker completed an Emergency Medicine internship, then finished Family Medicine Residency at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2012 and fellowship training at the same hospital in 2013. Since then, she has practiced medicine in Indiana, Kansas and Missouri and is board certified in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
Dr. Parker has a wide range of clinical experience from her work in emergency rooms, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and nursing home settings. Prior to joining ProPartners, she spent six years serving as the Platte County Health Department Medical Director in Platte County, Missouri. Dr. Parker is a member of the Missouri State Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, American Board of Family Medicine and the American Geriatrics Society. She also serves as a board member with the RISE Foundation and Northland Shepherd Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Dr. Parker has spent years collaborating with her patients, office staff, nurses, social workers, medical students, residents, fellows, nurse practitioners, and colleagues. Much of her interest and ease working alongside others likely stems from her upbringing in a family of eight! Dr. Parker is married to her best friend, Matt, and is mother to three incredibly active boys. Her family stays busy with numerous athletics, camping, hiking and fishing trips as well as other various outdoor activities.
“I do my absolute best to prioritize being efficient but thorough with each person I care for, and I will strive to treat every person as a unique individual with specific needs.”
